Alfred S. Woodworth, jr., Managing Director
"Woody" co-founded Echelon Ventures in the Spring of 2000. His career has been characterized by working with small, private, growing companies both domestically and internationally. Woody started his career in commercial lending at the State Street Bank in Boston. He later started and managed the Bank’s investment banking department and served as Director, Strategic Development for the Commercial Banking Group. Woody also started, and later acquired from the Bank, a firm that helped young computer technology companies identify, establish and manage international distribution. More recently, Woody served as Deputy Secretary for Commerce and Development in the Weld/Cellucci Administration, where he spent a considerable amount of his time on the impact of venture capital and venture firms on the Massachusetts economy. Prior to starting Echelon Ventures, he was a Managing Director of Gateway Financial Group where he engaged primarily in venture investment and investment banking transactions. He is also a Founding Partner and Special Limited Partner of the Brook Venture Fund. Brook is a $12 million private equity fund that made ten investments while Woody was a full-time Partner.

Woody serves on the Boards of two Echelon Ventures portfolio companies: Avedro, Inc., which has patented a device to correct vision by reshaping the cornea without incision; and [x+1], an on-line marketing firm. He is also an observer to the Board of SiteScape, Inc., which develops collaboration software.
Education
Woody earned an AB from Harvard College and an MBA from the Amos Tuck School at Dartmouth.

Jim Daniell, Special Venture Partner
Jim currently serves as Chief Operating Officer of Oxfam, America.
Additionally, Jim is an active entrepreneur and strong venture supporter of
high tech start-ups in the greater Boston area. He has served on numerous
boards of both private and public companies, has raised over $100m for his
own companies, as well as managed M&A and investment transactions totaling
over $1B. Prior to joining Echelon Ventures, Jim Daniell was interim President of and an investor in Integrated Fuel Cell Technologies. Prior to IFCT, Jim was President and CEO of Celarix, a venture backed start-up in the Supply Chain Management software market. During his tenure, Celarix grew over 300% and was selected for numerous industry awards such as the Upside Hot 100. Prior to Celarix, Jim was President and CEO of OrderTrust, a firm that specialized in distributed order management and large-scale transaction processing networks. Dr. Daniell joined OrderTrust in 1997, after serving as Chief Operating Officer of AT&T's Network Commerce Services, where he oversaw the Company's Web-hosting, Web-connectivity, e-commerce, call center solutions and managed connectivity solutions divisions. While at AT&T, Jim also led the firm’s business development team that did many deals around the globe and he led the strategic $150M LP investment in AT&T Ventures II. Prior to AT&T, Daniell worked in both large and small entrepreneurial environments, including the AT&T Bell Labs corporate spin-off of UNIX System Laboratories. He got his start in technology, building networking and client/server products at Software AG of North America.

Education
Jim is a graduate of Carnegie Mellon University, where he earned a doctorate in electrical and computer engineering, and of the University of Connecticut, where he earned a joint bachelor's and master's degree in computer science and engineering.

Scott C. McCabe, Special Venture Partner
Scott is a wealth advisor with the Private Banking and Investment Group at Merrill Lynch. This group consists of 300 advisors nationwide who focus on providing wealth management services to ultra high-net-worth individuals and families.
Prior to joining Merrill Lynch, Scott co-founded Echelon Ventures in early 2000. Previously, he spent fourteen years as a private equity and venture capital investor and entrepreneur. He participated in the development of both real estate and early stage technology portfolios. Scott was a Senior Director of Gateway Financial Group where he assisted in the launch of the Brook Venture Fund. He engaged in sourcing deal flow and was instrumental in funding Brook and its' co-investments from accredited investors. In his presence, the $12 million Brook Venture Fund made ten investments in early revenue stage companies with three profitable exits. Scott developed a network of accredited business professionals as a founder and Managing Director of Brookwood Financial Partners, a merchant bank specializing in real estate investment. Scott's career also included several entrepreneurial experiences. As a founding principal of Phoenix, Arizona-based Universal Reclamation, Inc., he and his partners conceived, planned and built the first aluminum slag recycling facility of its kind in the country. Scott designed the financial structure of the company and secured angel investment capital. Also, he designed and implemented the marketing plan for Precision Works, Inc.; an early stage environmental contracting firm specializing in asbestos abatement located in Los Angeles, CA.

Scott is actively involved with the Harvard Varsity Club and various other Harvard athletic and alumni activities. He also serves as an Executive Director of International Daughters and Sons Day.

A. Leigh Fulmer, Director, Investor Relations
Leigh has more than 20 years of experience working with high net worth
individuals in the financial services and capital management markets.
Her responsibilities include the development of the Company's investor
network, the delivery of investor relations services to Echelon investors,
and the execution of the firm's corporate communications program. Prior
to joining Echelon Ventures, Leigh was Manager, Investor Relations, at
Brodeur Worldwide, an $80 million public relations and communications
consultancy serving both early stage and Fortune 500 technology companies.
Before Brodeur, Leigh spent nine years helping to increase the investor
base at the Boston Foundation, a $565 million community endowment comprised
of 750 charitable funds benefiting the Greater Boston community. As Director
of Donor Services, Leigh was responsible for the stewardship of the Foundation's
Advised Fund program and the cultivation of relationships with more than
600 individual, corporate and nonprofit investors. In addition, she supported
the Foundation's asset development efforts, helping to execute a series
of programs that increased the Foundation's assets by more than $260
million. She worked as Assistant Controller, Special Investments Group
at Tucker Anthony & R. L. Day, and as Assistant Vice President/Controller at
C. F. Hovey & Co., a syndicator of private equity limited partnership
investments. Leigh began her career as Manager/Head Technician of the
ECG Lab at Massachusetts General Hospital, where she oversaw the management
of a $3 million profit center and supervised 40 technicians. Leigh is
a cum laude graduate of Boston University with a degree in Finance.
